Two seasons into his tenure with the Dallas Cowboys, Mike McCarthy has not delivered on expectations. Last season saw a miserable losing season without quarterback Dak Prescott and this year produced another disappointing early playoff loss.

There have been talks of a coaching change, even though vice president Stephen Jones has denied the rumors. However, Shaq had an interesting idea as to who should take over the Cowboys — former cornerback Deion Sanders.

“I’m putting this out right now,” Shaq said on The Big Podcast With Shaq. “Deion Sanders is the next head coach for the Cowboys. Jerry Jones, this message is from Shaquille O’Neal Incorporated, Deion Sanders for the next coach to Cowboys.

“You want the Dallas back rocking. Bring Deion to the fold. Deion will hold those players accountable. Deion Sanders for the next Cowboys coach. Put it out, Tweet it, dammit. TikTok it, Instagram it, OnlyFans it, put it out.”

Sanders played with the star on his helmet for five seasons, being a part of a Super Bowl during the 1995 season. Jerry Jones made him one of the highest-paid defensive players in the league when he signed during free agency so the relationship between the two is there.

From a coaching perspective, Sanders has done a great job at Jackson State, on and off the field. The Tigers are 15-5 during the two seasons the former NFL star has been on campus, winning the SWAC this past season. Sanders has been able to recruit at a level no HBCU has ever seen ever, bringing in two top 100 prospects during the 2022 cycle.

As to what Sanders’ next career move is yet to be seen. A bigger job could present itself inside of college football but if the Jones family wants to listen to Shaq, it would be quite the step up for Prime Time.

Dallas Cowboys to have coaching change at DC

Dan Quinn may be the hottest name in NFL head coaching searches–and while the Chicago Bears have a lengthy list of candidates–it looks like the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator has a legitimate chance of winding up in the Windy City.

“The #Bears are set to request 2nd interviews with 2 more candidates — #Cowboys DC Dan Quinn & ex-#Lions coach Jim Caldwell, per me and @MikeGarafolo,” Ian Rappaport tweeted on Monday. “#Colts DC Matt Eberflus has his 2nd interview on Wednesday, per @TomPelissero. #Saints DC Dennis Allen is interviewing tomorrow.”

At this point, it’s almost certain the former Atlanta Falcons’ frontman will be leading another NFL team in 2022.
