Shedeur Sanders‘ slide down the 2025 NFL Draft has been well-documented since the event began on Thursday. In turn, social media has been flooded with comments throughout the first, second and third rounds, providing their thoughts about Sanders still being on the board.

Of course, the memes have come along with it. One minor league baseball team — the Florence Y’all’s — whose mascot and team are literally based on the water tower that sits along the interstate in northern Kentucky — poked fun at the former Colorado quarterback.

They posted a photo of Sanders in a Y’all’s uniform with the caption, “Get ready to learn Florence Y’alls buddy.” This implies that he has somewhere to play next season if he were to go undrafted.

The trolling didn’t stop there. One commenter told the Y’alls that they think the team may be over-drafting for Sanders. The Y’alls admin replied, “Gonna take him as a UDFA.”

This is far from the only joke to be played on the former Colorado quarterback on social media. At the same time, many are shocked that Sanders, who was considered a first-round draft pick coming into the annual event, has fallen to day three.

Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart were the first quarterbacks to hear their names called, both being selected in the first round. Tyler Shough was drafted in the second round, while Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel were both taken in the third round.

Other quarterbacks waiting to hear their names called during day three are Will Howard and Quinn Ewers. Sanders will join them in hoping to find out their NFL destiny during the final day of the draft.

Sanders’ slide to day three comes despite being regarded as one of the top QBs at the collegiate level last season. As a senior in 2024, Sanders threw for a career-best 4,134 yards on an impressive 74% completion percentage to go along with 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Spending the last two seasons playing for the Buffaloes, he scored 72 total touchdowns.

All told, Sanders passed for 14,318 yards and 134 touchdowns. His 10 interceptions in 2024 were a career-high, so he isn’t known for turning the ball over through the air.

Still, it appears that quarterback-needy NFL teams have been hesitant to pull the trigger on drafting the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. The opportunity to play for some of those teams is becoming more scarce as other quarterbacks are drafted around him.

Day three begins at Noon ET, and Sanders hopes to have found his new NFL home by the end of the day. If one thing’s for sure, it won’t be with the Florence Y’alls.
