Potentially the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft might be telegraphing where he hopes to go. And while it’s a bit of an unorthodox move to try and influence the draft process, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders has been far from orthodox during his college career.

So it’s no surprise to see him sporting some red and blue New York Giants themed cleats ahead of Colorado’s bowl matchup vs. BYU on Saturday night. While Sanders might not wear the cleats for the game itself, it sends a pretty clear message.

And the cleats themselves are worthy of some appreciation.

The Giants are currently slotted for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and will likely be drafting a quarterback. And Sanders has risen to be the top quarterback in the class for many, meaning the realities could line up.

Sanders and Co. have also not been shy from trying to signal that Sanders and his teammate, Travis Hunter, expect to be top draft picks and would ideally like to play in big markets. The Giants, naturally, fit that bill for the Buffaloes quarterback.

But for now, Sanders will be wearing the Giants cleats ahead of his final college game, perhaps a sign of things to come.

Sanders recently played catch with a young Giants star

Sanders was in New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony, supporting his teammate and eventually winner Travis Hunter. And perhaps he will be back in New York soon, playing professional football there for the New York Giants.

While there, Sanders was hanging out with New York Giants star receiver Malik Nabers in New York, and the two were captured on video playing catch in NYC.

Sanders has thrown for 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns, with eight interceptions, heading into bowl season. He’s also rushed for four scores.

Sanders and Nabers would be fun to watch together as Nabers looks like one of the top young receivers in the NFL. The former LSU star has 80 receptions for 819 yards through the first 11 games of his NFL career.

For now, though, a potential Sanders-Nabers connection remains theoretical, as the quarterback has a final college game to play and a few months to pass until the NFL draft rolls around in April.
