Shedeur Sanders tells NFL teams why they should pick him: 'It's like a cheat code'

When it comes to Shedeur Sanders, much like his father, he’s not short on confidence. He’s one of the more confident prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. During interviews with the media at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, Sanders’ confidence was on display yet again.

He told all the teams across the league that it’s a no-brainer to pick him.

“If you have the franchise traits then why wouldn’t a franchise pick me? It’s like a cheat code.” Time will certainly tell if he’s right with that statement. And the former Colorado star will get his chance to prove it on one of the biggest stages in all of sports in the National Football League.

Cris Carter on Shedeur Sanders: ‘True CEO’

Sanders approaches everything like a CEO and is a standup citizen, according to what Carter said. The Hall of Fame wide receiver relayed a story about Sanders during the national championship game between Ohio State and Notre Dame.

And it just happened to be a coincidence for Carter.

“One thing I’m gonna say about Shedeur too, this is what a lot of young people don’t realize,” Carter said on Up and Adams. “When I was at the National Championship, Notre Dame versus Ohio State, I was working for a company that, AT&T, that he already has a deal, and he didn’t know that I was going to be getting in the car with his driver right after him that had been driving him and his brother around for two days. 

“So the thing that the driver said, as far as the way he conducts his business, the way he takes care of himself, the way he bosses his brother around to make sure that he’s not late, because he could do some things that aren’t as timely as Shedeur. So (he’s a) true CEO, this is something I told Deion. I told Deion Sanders, Jr. the guy behind the media, that you don’t know who’s watching.”

Sanders is widely considered the top or second best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft and could go within the top five. But perhaps something like this puts him over the top as he becomes a professional.

“And to hear this driver brag about Shedeur, he just said his timing, coming down every time he called him, he was five minutes early,” Carter said. “The way he was preparing his dress, his wardrobe inside the car, the things he talked about with his brother, the seriousness with which he conducted himself like all these things, like, he was just bragging about Shedeur. ‘Man, I drove him for two days, and the kid is going to be a great quarterback. Like, even if he couldn’t play, he’s going to be a great human being.’ 

“So those are the types of things that happen behind the scenes because there’s some jerks out there in sports, and people don’t like to admit it, but you always like to cheer for someone who’s a good person. There’s a lot of them and there’s more good ones than there are bad. But very seldom do we ever hear that. It’s nice to be able to hear that, especially about Shedeur.”
