Sheldon Creed No. 00 car nearly ripped in half in vicious wreck with Brennan Poole at Bristol

Just an absolutely violent hit. Brennan Poole couldn’t get to the bottom of the track quickly enough and slammed into Sheldon Creed. The No. 00 was a sitting duck after being spun out by Dean Thompson late in Stage 1 of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Bristol.
You hate to see these kinds of hits. Sheldon Creed was spun out and got his car stopped on the high side of the track, pointing down perpendicular to traffic. Breenan Poole came off of Turns 3 and 4 on the high side. He attempted to get down the track, but lost control of his car.
High speeds at Bristol and short-track bumping create these horrific incidents. Creed got out of his car, and it rolled down the track and into the wall. Poole had the wind knocked out of him, but both drivers left their cars under their own power.
Both Sheldon Creed and Brennan Poole were released from the infield care center. Creed talked about his experience during the wreck.
“I feel fine. Knocked the air out of me for a second,” Creed said. “I mean, the 27 [Jeb Burton] was the lucky dog at the moment, and he was doing really good job holding on to that. Was just trying to play with things. I was fairly free at the moment, just trying to search and seeing the 17 [Larson] diamond when he was lapping us, and I felt like it worked pretty good. So, I went and tried to start working that into my line, and I was just trying to work around the [27]. I don’t know. The 26 got me a few times by then and then just got me enough there.”

Sheldon Creed goes through violent wreck at Bristol
Sheldon Creed said he was happy to be okay. No joke, he could have been seriously hurt in that wreck if the 44 car hit him at a different angle.
At first, Creed thought he had gotten away with it. He thought he had spun out and avoided any other contact, Poole just couldn’t get it slowed down and to the bottom of the track in time.
“No, when the first guy missed me, I was like, ‘Oh, I might not get hit at all.’ And then, I just got hit,” Creed explained. “So, it just happened. … I mean, for Brennan’s sake, just, it happens quick and I was sitting right there in the middle of the track. So, what do you do?”
A vicious wreck. One of those that makes the entire crowd go quiet. Those moments are the most surreal at the track. When all that noise and energy just gets sucked out of the stands and the track. Thankfully, it appears the drivers had the wind knocked out of them. Nothing more.
