Sherrone Moore shares what Los Angeles Chargers fans can expect from Jim Harbaugh
Jim Harbaugh won’t be at Michigan next season, but he still has Sherrone Moore’s full support. During an appearance on the NFL Network, the newly-promoted Michigan head coach explained what Los Angeles Chargers fans can expect from Harbaugh.
“First of all, an impeccable, great human being, great man, high character, high values,” Moore said. “But you’re gonna have a tough, physical, fast, relentless football team that will play through the echo of the whistle and give you everything they got every game and nothing less.
“They will play with high standards, they will play with discipline and they do everything that you guys want. And I look forward to watching Coach Harbaugh and all the staff kick butt at the next level.”
Harbaugh stuffed his Los Angeles Chargers’ staff with former Michigan coaches, including secondary coach Steve Clinkscale, defensive line coach Mike Elston and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter. Moore, who was Michigan’s offensive coordinator, was promoted to head coach following Harbaugh’s decision to leave.
Harbaugh will aim to bring much-needed enthusiasm to the Los Angeles Chargers. The organization is fresh off a 5-12 season, finishing last in the AFC West. Nonetheless, the newly-hired head coach is excited for the opportunity.
“The opportunity was presented,” Jim Harbaugh said. “I felt that they, the Spanos family, the Charger organization, they made it clear they liked what I did and how I did it. And that’s all you could ever want from somebody that’s employing you. So, love of Michigan, the love of the NFL, and this opportunity. As my dad would say, who’s got it better than us.

“It was time. I said this the other day but I’ve only got so many sands left in the hourglass. And I want another shot. I want another shot to be simply known as world champions. The Lombardi Trophy–that’s my mission.”
What’s next for Sherrone Moore and Michigan?
Michigan won’t look the same next season, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will look worse. Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel believes the program’s mass exodus of coaches will allow Moore to usher in a new era.
“It gives Sherrone an opportunity to rebuild the staff particularly on the defensive side in the way that he wants,” Warde Manuel said. “I feel good about the people that he is bringing on.”
Moore isn’t scared of an unfamiliar future.
“We’re not satisfied with victories of the past, but we’re hungry for future success,” Moore said. “We want to attack every day as we walk into the building as if it’s the Monday of the national title game … we want to make sure we’re in the best position that we can compete on and off the field.
