Simone Biles‘ husband made his presence felt as a new member of the Chicago Bears on Sunday, returning a blocked punt for a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans. Jonathan Owens switched from the Packers to the Bears this offseason, and he wasted little time making an impact with his new franchise.

The Bears defense and special teams stepped up in a big way on Sunday, carrying them to a victory against the Titans, after they trailed 17-3 at point. During the game, Biles posted her reaction to Owens’ play on Twitter.

The Bears were trailing 17-3 in the third quarter and a play like Owens’ blocked punt returned for touchdown truly helped to flip the outcome of this game.

Momentum is a very real thing in sports and Chicago got it rolling in the second half, forcing Titans quarterback Will Levis into one of the most inadvisable throws of Week 1. He simply tried to chuck the ball towards the sidelines but didn’t put nearly enough juice on it.

Bears corner Tyrique Stevenson intercepted it and returned it 43 yards for a touchdown, for the easy pick-six. It proved to be the back-breaking, game-winning pick six for the Chicago defense.

Titans quarterback Will Levis finished the day completing 19 of 32 passes for 127 yards, while tossing in one touchdown and two interceptions. Those turnovers were costly and if he keeps that up, Levis will likely find a seat on the bench. The National Football League doesn’t stand for Not For Long for nothing. He’ll have to learn to eat the sack and not try to throw the ball away there.

Opportunities of being a starting quarterback in the NFL only come around every so often. So, it’ll be interesting to see how long of a leash the Titans’ coaching staff is willing to give him this year.

It’s just Week 1. But Levis better correct things and in a hurry. Or he’ll be on the bench. The Bears got an awful performance from their No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, quarterback Caleb Williams. he was missing on throws the whole afternoon, completing just 14 of 29 passes for 93 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.

It’s Week 1. And offenses across the NFL usually take a few weeks to really get firing on all cylinders and get into rhythm. So, we’ll likely see offenses across the league pick it up in the next couple of weeks.
