Simone Biles just shared an interesting update on her beef with former USA gymnastic teammate MyKayla Skinner. The legendary gymnast went to X to reveal that she has “been blocked.” Biles doesn’t mention Skinner blocking her, but it would make sense for that to happen since Skinner has been critical about the team heading into this year’s Summer Olympics in Paris.

Skinner questioned the team’s work ethic. In a video, that ‘s since been deleated, Skinner said, “Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t like what it used to be. The girls just don’t have the work ethic.”

Biles responded to that after the team won the gold medal on Tuesday. “Lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions,” Biles captioned her post that includes a photo of the entire U.S. team holding the American flag.

Another former Olympian, McKayla Maroney, showed support for Biles and the rest of the squad. “It doesn’t get more ironic than this,” Maroney wrote. “She f’d around n found out fr. Feels like I need to apologize just to redeem my first name.”

Following Team USA’s gold medal win, Skinner issued an apology. “I want to formally apologize to Team USA and to our gymnastic community for my comments during my recent YouTube episodes of the gymnastics Olympic trials,” Skinner wrote at the time. “It was not my intention to offend or disrespect any of the athletes or to take away from their hard work. Your hard work and dedication has paid off and I congratulate each and everyone one of you.”

Skinner, 27, was an alternate for the 2016 Olympic team. She competed in the 2020 Olympics and earned the silver medal in the vault event. During the 2020 Olympics, Biles earned a silver medal and brozne medal for team and balance beam, respectively. At that time, Biles withdrew from the competition following vault, the team’s first event, due to the “twisties.”

Biles now has eight Olympic medals, the most for any U.S. gymnast. “I just go out here and do what I’m supposed to and I’m doing what I love and enjoying it,” Biles said, per ESPN. “So that’s really all that matters to me. Yes, it’s amazing now that I hear it, but I don’t think I’ll truly understand the depth of it until I walk away from the sport.”
