Simon Biles has the credentials to boast. After Biles secured her fifth career gold medal, former medalist Alexandra Raisman asked Biles and the women’s artistic gymnastics team if they had a team nickname. After a moment of hesitation, Biles provided an ample response.

“F.A.A.F.O.,” Biles said, per USA TODAY Sports’ Rachel G. Bowers.

F*** Around and Find Out. The United States gymnastics team’s opponents found out on Tuesday when Biles, Suni LeeJordan Chiles and Jade Carey put on masterful performances to claim its first team medal since the 2016 Olympics.

Biles clinched the top spot for the United States, performing an incredible floor routine to secure the gold. Biles posted a jaw-dropping 14.666 score to give the US a final team score of 171.296.

Italy finished second with a score of 165.494 to take home the silver medal, while Brazil earned the bronze with a score of 164.497. The gold medal completes a remarkable redemption story for Biles, who had the “twisties” at the 2020 Summer Olympics and withdrew from competition.

The United States started off on the vault on Tuesday, earning a score of 44.110. Biles had the highest vault score at 14.900. From there, the US went to the bars. The team score on bars was 43.332. Lee led the way in the event, notching a team-high score of 14.566.

The beam was the third rotation for the United States. Team USA came in with a score of 41.699 on the beam. Once again, Lee led the change with an excellent 14.600 score. Finally, the United States finished with the floor, performing well in its fourth rotation to haul in the gold medal.

Michael Phelps cheers on Simone Biles

Simone Biles not only had her husband, Chicago Bears defensive back Jonathan Owens, in attendance for Tuesday’s Team Gymnastics final at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, but also a fellow GOAT in former Olympian Michael Phelps.

Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time with 28 medals to his name, was spotted in the stands cheering Biles on. Phelps was all smiles after Biles’ first rotation, in which she scored a 14.900 on the vault.

Like Phelps, Biles is certainly on the shortlist of the greatest Olympians of all-time. Biles entered the 2024 Summer Games as a seven-time medal winner, four of which are gold.

Biles added to her accomplishments with a gold in the Team Gymnastics Final on Tuesday, and she will look to add even more medals to her collection in the coming days.
