Skip Bayless says his wife won't speak to him after his fit during Heat-Celtics game 6
Rule No. 1: Don’t bring work home. Skip Bayless is learning this lesson the hard way.
After the Miami Heat fell in heartbreaking fashion to the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, Bayless had a long night. The 71-year-old “Undisputed” co-host took fans through his dilemma during his show the following day.
“I still have not recovered from Saturday night. My wife is still not speaking to me because I threw a fit,” Bayless admitted. “I couldn’t even sleep on Saturday night. I couldn’t figure it out.”
Perhaps Bayless was sleeping on the couch. The former “First Take” star claimed he lost it on his wife after she asked him what he wanted to eat following the loss. In typical fashion, Bayless’ recounting of the incident was pure entertainment.
“‘What do I want to eat? Did you just watch?'” Bayless said. “She was like, ‘Yeah, there’s still another game.’ No, there’s not. It’s over!”
Luckily for Bayless, he was wrong. On Monday night, the Heat defied the odds by winning Game 7 in TD Garden to prevent the Celtics from completing the NBA’s first ever reverse sweep.

Jimmy Butler led the Heat in the contest, dropping 28 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Breakout star Caleb Martin wasn’t far behind, adding 26 points and 10 rebounds. Butler won the ECF MVP Larry Bird Trophy for his efforts.
Bayless took the surprising victory as an opportunity to apologize to his wife on Twitter.
“Please forgive me, Ernestine. I am sorry about the fit I threw on Saturday night when I came within a tenth of a second of a great pick – Heat in 6. I am crazy happy now. YOU WERE RIGHT: You kept saying, ‘There’s still another game left.”‘Yes, but … YOU CALLED IT,” Bayless wrote.
Now, with the Heat set to face the Nuggets on Thursday night in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Bayless is once again rallying behind his Heat.
“I’m going Heat in 6 because they will prove to be mentally and physically tougher than the Nuggets,” Bayless said on Tuesday’s episode of “Undisputed.”
Let’s hope Skip learned his lesson if this series happens to go to Game 7, as well.
