The Twitter/X account of sports personality Skip Bayless appears to have been hacked, posting about LeBron James (perhaps not unusual), the 2024 election, and more. It’s also become the latest of many high profile accounts to compromised and used to tout some cryptocurrency. In this case: “$SKIP”

One post references James’ endorsement of Kamala Harris as his preferred candidate, denouncing it. Others purport that crypto will thrive should her opponent, Donald Trump, win office.

Trump has sought to be a crypto-friendly candidate through the 2024 election.

The posts from Bayless’ account appear to be trying to drive users toward a trading platform called Solana, a blockchain platform evidently used to trade crypto currency and other Web3 assets. Blockchain is baseline technology that crypto currency relies on.

And while some of the tweets have already been deleted, one remained at the time of publication.
