Snoop Dogg brings Simone Biles along for Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone's 400m hurdle world record gold
Simone Biles may have wrapped up her Olympic competition earlier this week, but she’s still in Paris cheering her country on.
Biles joined unofficial Olympics mascot Snoop Dogg inside the Stade de France to watch Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone win gold during her performance in the 400m hurdles — which ended up being one heck of a race for her to take in. Of course, the iconic hip hop artist was on his feet before the end of it, screaming for the American track star to make history. It might have rubbed off on Biles as well.
She also revealed that it was her first time attending another Olympic event other than her own. Watch one Olympic gold medalist support another one in the video below:
Just as Biles did during her three gold medal-winning performances, the American track star dominated the 400-meter hurdles final at the Olympic Games in Paris on Thursday afternoon. McLaughlin-Levrone ran a world record time of 50.37 seconds with Snoop and Biles in attendance.
For Biles, she medaled in four different events during her stay at the Paris 2024 Olympics. She earned three medals in the women’s individual all-around, women’s team all-around and women’s vault. Her lone silver medal came on her floor routine. Moreover, she was nursing an ankle injury during her entire stay in Paris.

It was a bit of a redemtion tour for Biles, who famously withdrew herself from multiple events at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in an attempts to prioritize her mental health and safety. Three gold medal later and she has more than exceeded expectations in Paris since the Games began and can now call herself the most decorated gynmast in the United States’ Olympic history.
Meanwhile, McLaughlin-Levrone’s performance on Thursday was the third Olympic gold medal-winning performance of her career after taking gold in the same event in Tokyo in 2020 and in the 4x400m relay, and event she’ll perform in beginning on Friday. That will be her last event of the Paris 2024 Olympics with the final being held on Saturday if Team USA qualifies.
McLaughlin-Levrone’s qualifier in the 4x400m relay is set for 4:40 a.m. ET on Friday.
Thanks to the help of Olympians like Biles and McLaughlin-Levrone, the United States surpassed 100 total medals on Thursday. The U.S. leads all countries with 103, including 30 gold, 38 silver and 35 bronze. China is in second place with 73.
