Earlier this week, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, who is a spry 71, morphed into “QB Pete” as he showed he knows how to keep a play alive and throw downfield.

Then cool coach Pete decided to have even more fun at the expense of some of his Seahawks. And he leaned on Snoop Dogg, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and actor Will Ferrell, who were happy to be part of some faux outrage.

First, we’ve got to set this all up. Here’s how it started. You can see why Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith referred to his coach as MVPete.

Pete Carroll got some celebrity friends to ruffle his Seahawks

And this is how it’s going. On Saturday, Pete Carroll had the perfect response. He brought in a couple of his friends from his days coaching USC football. And even the NFL commissioner had some fun. Carroll posted the video Saturday afternoon, about five hours before the Seahawks kick off against the Dallas Cowboys.

Did you notice a theme? Pete Carroll apparently humiliated the Seahawks secondary (just go the story, after all, someone allowed the catch.)

First, there was Snoop, who blew smoke into the camera.

“Pete Carroll, the nerve of you to treat your players with such abuse.” Snoop says. “You should be sanctioned. I thought you was better than this. This is Snoop Dogg. On behalf of Death Row Records, you keep treating them players like that, abusing them, call them out by they name. I’m gonna show up and show out. because you know I’m a playa. Get your s**t together P. I don’t want to do it but I will get your a*s arrested.”

Then came Goodell, who might be opening an NFL investigation. Or so he says.

“Hey coach, I got a video earlier today from one of your practices that has me very concerned,” he said. “I keep hearing about the abuse that you’re putting on your defensive secondary, shredding them every day with your passes and your running.”

Then came Ferrell, with all his faux bluster.

“What are you doing? These are young men out there. They’re fighting for their livelihoods … for their jobs. And you make them look like little bi***s. Okay, you gotta back off. Because if you’re gonna make them look like little bi***s., I’m gonna make you my bi**h, all right? And you know I’ll do it. Back off bi**h, back off.”

Then Pete Carroll had the perfect response. “Whoa, I had no idea you guys felt like that. But you’re either competing or you’re not.” We’re betting Carroll likes to lean into you’re either competing or you’re not.

The Seahawks loved Snoop’s video so much they invited the rapper to raise the 12th Man flag this season at one of the home games.
