Solomon Thomas to wear No. 90 for Dallas Cowboys after DeMarcus Lawrence's departure

DeMarcus Lawrence quickly went from a fan favorite to an enemy of the Dallas Cowboys. After signing with the Seattle Seahawks, Lawrence claimed he would not win Super Bowls in Dallas before going back and forth with a few former teammates. There appears to be no love lost from either end.
No. 90 was what Lawrence wore during his time in Dallas and just a few days after leaving, somebody else is sporting the number. Newly signed defensive tackle Solomon Thomas will have it during the 2025 season. Thomas wore it during his time at Stanford but for the majority of his NFL days, No. 94 has been the selection.
Currently, No. 94 is owned by EDGE Marshawn Kneeland. So an easy second choice for Thomas is his college number while potentially making a little statement as the Cowboys quickly move on from Lawrence on the roster.
While Lawrence was a good player for the franchise, usually somebody taking a number would not create too much buzz. But after what Lawrence said upon arrival in Seattle, it’s certainly noteworthy.
“Change of scenery is always good, but Dallas is my home,” Lawrence said. “Made my home there, my family lives there. I’m forever gonna be there, but I know for sure I’m not going to win a Super Bowl there. So, yeah … we here.”

The likes of Micah Parsons responded to the comments, eventually tweeting at Lawrnece a few times. Other Cowboy players got involved too but were more of subtweets.
Unfortunately, there will be no regular season matchup between Dallas and Seattle this season. If there is going to be any kind of revenge game, for either side, they will have to see each other in the playoffs.
More on Dallas Cowboys, famous numbers inside the organization
Dallas does not officially retire numbers but a few do appear to be off limits. No. 8 (Troy Aikman), No. 12 (Roger Staubach), and No. 22 (Emmitt Smith) have not been worn since those players left the franchise. People raised their eyes when Tony Romo’s No. 9 was given away to Jaylon Smith and is now occupied by Kavontae Turpin.
And then there is No. 88, which has become a tradition for the Cowboys. Started by Drew Pearson, Micahel Irvin dawned the number during Super Bowl runs, before Dez Bryant joined the club. When CeeDee Lamb was drafted, Jerry Jones insisted he took 88 too.
