On Sunday, 1-seed South Carolina will square off against 2-seed UConn in the National Championship at 3 p.m. ET. It’s a rematch of the 2021-22 championship game when South Carolina defeated the Huskies 64-49.

Now, the Gamecocks have a chance to win their second-straight national title after taking home the crown last season. It’d just be another piece of history for head coach Dawn Staley, who has led the Gamecocks to five consecutive Final Fours.

Of course, Staley’s accomplishments won’t scare UConn head coach Geno Auriemma. The 71-year-old is the winningest women’s college basketball coach of all time and has 11 national championships under his belt. His team is more than capable of winning another one this season, too.

Odds for South Carolina vs. UConn

Evidently, oddsmakers are betting on Auriemma’s Huskies to deliver him some more hardware this weekend. According to FanDuel, UConn is a 5.5-point favorite against South Carolina. Additionally, the Huskies boast -230 odds on the money line.

The over/under for the game is set at 138.5 points. For reference, South Carolina is averaging 80.5 points per game in comparison to UConn’s nearly-identical 80.8 points per outing.

Time: 3 p.m. ET, April 6
Channel: ESPN
Location: Amalie Arena — Tampa, Fla.

South Carolina and UConn will clash in the National Championship at 3 p.m. ET inside the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. This isn’t the first time the two powerhouses have met this season.

On Feb. 16, UConn marched into South Carolina’s Colonial Life Arena and dominated the Gamecocks in 87-58 fashion. In the win, UConn was red hot, shooting 13-28 (46.4%) from beyond the arc.

The Huskies controlled the glass all game, reeling in nearly three times as many offensive rebounds as South Carolina. Azzi Fudd was particularly spectacular for the Huskies, tallying a team-high 28 points on 6-10 shooting from 3-point range.

Of course, Paige Bueckers was impressive as well. The veteran guard stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists. On Sunday, South Carolina will look to avoid suffering a similar fate while UConn will look to repeat history.
