These are some tough times for Steelers fans. But when you’re clutching your Terrible Towel and obsessing over the loss to the Browns, remember that Jaylen Warren plays for your team.

That’s Jaylen Warren, the hottest tailback in the NFL. And as of Tuesday, he also was the winner of the weekly Angry Runs title as selected by Kyle Brandt and the Good Morning Football show.

Best we can tell, in order to win the angriest runner of the week, a player needs to fit seamlessly into a vibe that’s equal parts head-banger rock and WWE hype. Fans get into it and nominate their favorite runs of the week. But one thing is clear. You need to be screaming and overly caffeinated to appreciate all the carnage.

Jaylen Warren competed against the oddest of finalists. There was Commanders quarterback Sam Howell, who gave “crazy good effort at the goal line,” Brandt said. “I love this. This is my Captain America” as video showed the QB bounce off tackles three times at the goal line before scoring the touchdown.

Then there was Cardinals receiver/returnman Greg Dortch, who is all of 5-7. He gave great, angry effort.

Brandt said of the nomination: “Dortch, it rhymes with borscht, the Ukrainian beet soup. And that’s what he’s doing. He’s beating and punching. He’s supposed to get beat up right here. Bang. He doesn’t.” Brandt clicked off all the teams that had waived Dortch, the former Wave Forest star. “And now he’s waving. Hi haters. I’m on Angry Runs.”

Check out the video, then come back for more Jaylen Warren.

Brandt salivated over Warren’s amazing day against the Browns. He screamed: “My favorite player in the NFL was spinning and that’s just the appetizer.” Brandt counted the hits, then likened it to when Stone Cold Steve Austin “was counting his beers in the ring.”

Brandt also called Warren “the hardest runner in the NFL this year” and noted that the Steelers masher got two nominations for this week’s Angry Runs scepter.

“I don’t care whether he was drafted or not drafted, that dude runs hard,” Brandt screamed. “Jaylen Warren putting more holes than the Warren Commission. There’s all kinds of mystery about how to tackle this guy and I love it.”

In a 13-10 loss to the Browns, Warren gained 129 yards on only nine carries, including the 74-yard rumble to open the second half. It’s the second consecutive game of at least 100 yards rushing for the former undrafted free agent from Oklahoma State. Yes, the Steelers offense is in shambles, which led to Tuesday’s termination of coordinator Matt Canada. But don’t blame Jaylen Warren.

Ryan Heath of Fantasy Points Data crunched some analytics this week and proclaimed that Warren is the shiftiest back in the NFL this season, outside of Dolphins rookie De’Von Achane. Plus, he’s also the angriest runner, at least for last weekend’s games.
