Steelers safety Damontae Kazee ejected over hit on Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman
Call it an early day for Damontae Kazee. Officials kicked out the Steelers safety after he had a flagrant hit on Colts receiver Michael Pittman.
Officials didn’t even think long about whether Kazee’s hit was worthy of disqualification. Meanwhile, doctors evaluated Pittman to see if he suffered a concussion.
Check out the video below. Keep in mind, both teams needed a win to keept their flickering playoff hopes alive.
Just before halftime, the Colts announced that Pittman would not return to the game. The receiver started the game acid hot, with Gardner Minshew throwing his way five times. Pittman caught four of the passes for 78 yards.
Coming into the game, Pittman had 95 catches for 984 yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the Steelers lost another safety in the first half when Minkah Fitzpatrick suffered a knee injury. Team officials initially said he is questionable to return ot the game. After halftime, the Steelers confirmed Fitzpatrick would not play the rest of the day.

With two starters down in the Steelers secondary, Minshew and the Colts offense started moving the football. Indy took a 14-13 halftime lead. Early in second quarterr, the Steelers were up 13-0. It was only the second time this season, Pittsburgh had maintained a cushion of at least 13 points.
The Colts finished the game on a 30-0 scoring run to win 30-13. It got so bad at safety that cornerback Patrick Peterson needed to take some snaps when Trenton Thompson, Fitzpatrick’s replacement, suffered a stinger.
The loss, their third straight, dropped the Steelers to 7-7 and in last place in the super competitive AFC North division. Pittsburgh finishes the season with games against the Bengals, Seahawks and Ravens. Coach Mike Tomlin now has a significant streak at stake. Pittsburgh has posted 16 straight seasons of winning at least .500 of their games or better.
The Bengals have won three straight with reserve quarterback Jake Browning. He replaced Joe Burrow last month after Burrow had season-ending wrist surgery.
