Saturday’s Wild Card playoff game between the Ravens and Steelers was delayed briefly in the second half after a drone was spotted above M&T Bank Stadium. Although the drone never entered the stadium, sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung stated that league rules require that play stops.

The delay occurred with 5:16 in the third quarter and is not the first time this has happened at a Ravens postseason game. A Pennsylvania man was charged with illegally flying a drone over M&T Bank Stadium during last year’s AFC Championship between Baltimore and the Kansas City Chiefs.

According to a report from CBS News, the FBI issued a warning to drone pilots prior to the game that the area around the stadium was considered to be under a “temporary flight restriction.”

Additionally, the FAA states that, “All aircraft operations; including parachute jumping, unmanned aircraft and remote-controlled aircraft, are prohibited within a 3NMR up to and including 3000ft AGL of any stadium having a seating capacity of 30,000 or more people where either a regular or post-season Major League Baseball, National Football League, or NCAA division one football game is occurring.”

Ultimately, the game between the Steelers and Ravens was stopped for only around five minutes after the drone sighting before resuming a. The Ravens would go on to a 28-14 victory on an evening in which they never trailed, advancing to the Divisional Round of play.

Kirk Herbstreit calls out Steelers for lack of ‘fight’ vs. Ravens

Kirk Herbstreit came after the Pittsburgh Steelers hard for their effort, or lack thereof, in the first half of a Wild Card playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday. The Steelers currently enter halftime trailing 21-0 after being completely outplayed in the first two quarters.

Herbstreit, who is calling the game on Amazon Prime along with Al Michaels, went after the team for the lack of “fight” that it showed early on.

“If I were a Steelers fan, the thing that would concern me just watching this is that you’re in the postseason,” Herbstreit said. “You’re getting dominated. I don’t see any fight. I don’t see any push back. It’s one thing to lose Xs and Os against a really talented offense, but where the hell is the fight? This is the Pittsburgh Steelers. There’s nothing. They’re just going through the motions.”

Although the Steelers came out with a bit more fire in the second half, they hole they dug themselves in early proved to be too deep.
