Stefon Diggs breaks silence with new Instagram post amid absence from Bills minicamp
Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs has broken his silence after his absence from the start of the team’s mandatory minicamp Tuesday.
Diggs shared a couple of cryptic posts on Instagram, though not much insight of what led to his unexpected absence.
“I just be letting people cap,” Diggs wrote, per Pro Football Talk. “If them lies help you sleep better tell em big dawg… My phone been silent for like 6 years. Ion play all them sounds and s—.”
Bills head coach Sean McDermott was “very concerned” by Diggs’ no-show. Diggs’ agent, Adisa Bakari, told Adam Schefter of ESPN that Diggs was in Buffalo for minicamp and met with McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane the past two days. Buffalo later confirmed that Diggs reported in the morning before leaving the facility ahead of practice.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen shed some light on the situation while speaking with the media, saying “we’re working on some things” that are “non-football related.”

“Internally, we’re working on some things,” Allen said, via Pro Football Talk. “Not football-related. Stef, he’s my guy. I f—— love him. He’s a brother of mine. This does not work, what we’re doing here, without him.”
Josh Allen takes some of the blame for Stefon Diggs situation
Allen added he didn’t know if Diggs’ issues stemmed from the AFC Divisional Round loss this past season to the Cincinnati Bengals in which Diggs exited Highmark Stadium before some of the team’s coaches had even arrived to the locker room.
“There’s things I could do better to help out with this process and try to get him back here and be the Buffalo Bill that he’s meant to be… There are some things that could have gone better last year and didn’t,” Allen said. “I think, as an organization, maybe not communicating the right way with everything. Just trying to talk and listen at the same time, hear him out and just try to move this forward as quickly and respectfully as possible.”
Money would appear to not be a factor, as Diggs signed a four-year, $96 million extension ahead of last season. Diggs, 29, is coming off a season in which he hauled in 108 receptions for 1,429 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns. He earned his third Pro Bowl nomination in as many years with the Bills.
