They say that game respects game. That was made apparent when Warriors star Steph Curry wore a shirt with South Carolina women’s basketball star Milaysia Fulwiley‘s face on it ahead of Golden State’s game against the Toronto Raptors.

The two have a deeper relationship, however, as Fulwiley signed with Under Armour and Curry Brand in 2024. She was the first-ever collegiate athlete signed to the NBA superstar’s brand, and serves as an ambassador for it.

“It feels incredible to be picked to represent Curry Brand,” Fulwiley said at the time of her signing. “Knowing that I can be a role model for other young girls to come out here and do exactly what I did is amazing.”

As an ambassafor for Curry Brand, Fulwiley will wear Under Armour shoes (South Carolina is an Under Armour school) for the rest of her collegiate career. She has also collaborated with the Curry Brand team for exclusives, which plans to highlight the best of the brand, as well as her personality and style, per the release.

Curry’s showcase comes as the No. 1 seed Gamecocks gear up for their first NCAA Tournament game against No. 16 seed Tennessee Tech on Friday. Fulwiley is expected to be a major player for Dawn Staley and South Carolina as they look to win back to back national championships for the first time in program history.

“When it comes to the ability to change the game for good, nobody can speak to that more than Milaysia,” Curry said in the same release. “She’s changing the women’s game on the fly with how she plays and moves on the court.”

This season, Fulwiley is averaging 12.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for the Gamecocks. Despite being a high-profile member of one of the nation’s leading women’s basketball programs, she’s only started three games in two years for South Carolina. She’s played in 71 total games for SC heading into the NCAA Tournament.

Tip-off for Friday’s NCAA Tournament-opening matchup between No. 1 seed South Carolina and No. 16 seed Tennessee Tech is set for 4 p.m. ET and will air live on ESPN. The Gamecocks are 42.5-point betting favorites over the Ohio Valley Conference tournament champions.

Notably, Fulwiley has never lost a game in the NCAA Tournament, having won the whole thing with the Gamecocks as a true freshman last season. She’ll look to continue that trend on Friday.
