ESPN‘s Stephen A. Smith had no time for a caller’s “dumbass” question during Wednesday’s “The Stephen A. Smith Show.”

Muhammed from Seattle, Washington, wanted the “First Take” host to settle a debate, although upon hearing the question, it was clear there was nothing to settle. The answer was actually quite obvious.

“Who would you rather have [between] Steph Curry heading into this season or Trae Young,” Muhammed from Seattle asked.

Smith paused before going off on Muhammed from Seattle.

“Muhammed, my brother, with respect — that’s a dumbass question,” Smith said. “What an idiotic question. Thank God you didn’t show your face when you asked that question. Steph Curry or Trae Young? It’s not even a question. Steph Curry is the greatest shooter ever known to man. It’s a dumb question. You could do better. I expect better from my callers because I will hang up on your ass. I’m just telling you.”

As if you needed to add anything to what Smith said, the debate begins and ends with one quick look at the Golden State Warriors point guard’s resume. Four NBA championships. Two MVP awards. Nine All-Star selections. Young, meanwhile, has two All-Star selections to his name at just 24 years of age.

Stephen A. Smith reacts to sweeping layoffs at ESPN: ‘Deserved better’

Smith, who appears to have survived ESPN‘s latest round of layoffs, believes his now former colleagues “deserved better.”

He addressed the layoffs in full detail on his podcast Monday.

ESPN laid off about 20 members of its on-air talent,” Smith said. “Friends of mine actually, definitely respected colleagues, who had done phenomenal jobs and deserved better. They deserved better than the times we are living in.”

As for his future at ESPN, Smith admitted he “could be next.”

“This ain’t the end. More is coming,” Smith said, via Awful Announcing. “And yes, ladies and gentlemen, I could be next. Let me tell you all something. Don’t ever, ever, ever in your life as a Black person take anything for granted. I told you before, when white folks catch a cold, Black folks catch pneumonia…The one thing I could tell you about Stephen A, this ain’t 2009. I really didn’t see it coming. My eyes are always wide open now. I’m never comfortable. I never take anything for granted and I never assume that I’m safe.”
