After trolling Cowboys fans on Sunday night, Stephen A. Smith took his victory lap on First Take on Monday morning following the team’s collapse against the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round. Included in the victory lap was a song, created specially for the occasion, which ESPN played to lead off the show on Monday morning.

The song was comprised of Smith’s many takes on the Cowboys and how they would inevitably let down their fans once again. Luckily for the producers of the mix, there was plenty of material to work with.

The First Take host has been warning fans about getting their hopes up about the Dallas Cowboys since Week 1, after they beat the Giants 40-0.

“I’ll say this to you, we’ve seen this before, we’ve seen this before,” Smith said the Monday after the win over New York. “I just want you to know, everybody’s hype today, I said Rex Ryan’s already got them as the best defense in the league. They’re the gift that keeps on giving. This is what happens You don’t want them plummeting now, it’s early. Go ahead get your hopes up and then BAM! It’s coming.”

If there’s one thing Stephen A. Smith loves, it’s saying, “I told you so.” The loss dropped the Cowboys’ playoff record to 1-3 under head coach Mike McCarthy.

Packers stun Cowboys in Wild Card round

Green Bay made short work of Dallas, pretty much from the opening kick. The Packers struck first with a long drive to start the game, taking 7:52 off the clock and finishing it off with a 3-yard Aaron Jones touchdown run to take a 7-0 lead.

Green Bay would go on to score three more times in the first half, opening up a 27-0 lead, before Dallas would finally answer.

The Packers would score three times in the second quarter as quarterback Dak Prescott and the Cowboys struggled. Jones tacked on a 1-yard score to cap off a 19-play drive after Prescott was picked off in his own territory.

Then quarterback Jordan Love hit a beautiful pass over the middle to cap a 93-yard drive with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Dontayvion Wicks, making it 20-0 Packers after Anders Carlson missed the extra point.

A pick-six provided the fourth and final score for Green Bay in the first half, making it 27-0.

Dallas, though, would get the final possession before the half and turn it into a touchdown on a 1-yard pass from Prescott to Jake Ferguson, cutting the deficit to 27-7 at the half. Despite displaying some juice in the second half, the Cowboys’ couldn’t overcome their multi-score deficit, falling 48-32.
