Stephen A Smith refutes story regarding Micah Parsons crossing him up: 'Crossed-over by a Cowboy?'
Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe are readying to coach the Celebrity All-Star Game as part of NBA All-Star Weekend on Friday, and the fireworks are already flying.
News was broken by Smith and Sharpe’s fellow host on First Take, Molly Qerim, regarding a mishap at practice on Thursday night. Evidently, Smith was crossed-up so badly by Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons that he needed x-rays on Friday, making him late for their regularly scheduled show.
Now even with how poetic it would be for Smith to get dropped by a member of the Cowboys, the First Take analyst had something to say about it when he finally joined the show. According to Smith, Qerim is embellishing a bit, and he wasn’t actually crossed-up by Parsons, but he did take a spill while shooting.
“Ladies and gentlemen in America, Molly Qerim is a pathological liar. That did not happen to me,” Smith responded, refuting Qerim’s story about Parsons crossing him up. “She made the whole thing up. That’s No. 1. Crossed-over by a Cowboy? By Micah Parsons? Are you kidding me? I got it. Let me tell my story please. I listened to your drivel, your lies to the American people. … They had the practice last night, and Shannon didn’t show up. So I go there, because I’ve got to scout my team. I’ve got to see who I’m playing, who I’m going to put on the bench, because I’m not losing this game tonight, okay? And the next thing you know, that damn Micah Parsons is on the basketball court, acting like he’s trying to sack quarterbacks and stuff, and pushing people around.

“So after that, they were sitting up there, and he and I were shooting around, shooting against one another, and there was some sweat on the floor. I literally was about to pull-up, just shooting. I literally busted my ass. I mean, feet flying in the air and everything. You see what I’m saying? I got up, it was like I was sliding, it was like I was sliding into third base or something. It was that bad.”
So Smith is taking a stance that it was the sweat on the court that dropped him, and Parsons was simply in the area. Unless we get some footage of the incident, we’re in for a classic he-said, she-said involving Smith and Qerim.
Did Micah Parsons cross-up Stephen A. Smith? The world may truly never know, but the debate will rage on, we’re sure.
