Stephen A. Smith threatens to 'expose' Terrell Owens during social media dispute
Known best for his work on the show First Take, Stephen A. Smith is one of the faces of ESPN. In that career, it seems like one athlete who has rubbed him the wrong way is former NFL star Terrell Owens.
The pair recently had a feud that played out on social media, with Smith even threatening to expose Owens amid their dispute.
That dispute started when Smith went on The Joe Budden Podcast. There, he opened up about his relationship with former co-host Max Kellerman and explained why he thinks that things didn’t work out for him on First Take. For Smith, it came down to Kellerman’s background. He’s an incredibly smart person but wasn’t an athlete or journalist, which Smith implied made listeners not trust him.
It was shortly after this that Owens quote tweeted an old video of him on First Take, writing, “FACTS!!!!!!!!!” In that video, Owens claimed that Kellerman was “blacker than” Smith, which seemed to upset him.
Smith responded, writing, “Now….as for this dude, that’s an entirely different story. You know how I feel about your sorry ass @terrellowens and you know why! You should thank your Heavenly Father I haven’t zeroed in on you with the trifling s— you tried to pull. Tell folks to ask ESPN what your desperate ass tried to pull. Keep on talking. Eventually, you’ll expose yourself! #REALFACTS.”
Stephen A. Smith wasn’t done there, though, as he threatened to expose Terrell Owens if Owens doesn’t expose himself.
“Or…….maybe I’ll just dedicate the entire Stephen A. Smith Show/Podcast on YouTube this Monday to all the things you tried to do behind the scenes — to BROTHERS — over the years while claiming someone is more of a Brother than others. Let me thing about that over the next 24 hours!!!!#SickOfTHIS.#Enough,” Smith wrote.

It’s unclear what there is to expose about Owens. However, it is interesting to see that there is some clear animosity between the two. In fact, Owens doesn’t even know what there is to expose but he is still on Kellerman’s side.
“I can’t wait to hear what he’s going to expose me about,” Owens wrote. “We’ll be waiting. Anything to get the people to tune into and increase the ratings on his show but I’m here for it. Hey Stevie, when it’s all said and done and you open up your mouth with the annoying overuse of vocabulary to try to expose me…I’m still #TeamMax.”
Stephen A. Smith wore a name tag for Shannon Sharpe
Shannon Sharpe is now joining Stephen A. Smith on First Take. However, on his first day, he had trouble adjusting to being on a new show, calling Smith, “Skip,” accidentally addressing Skip Bayless who he hosted Undisputed with.
In response to that, Smith showed up for their second day together with a name tag to clarify who he was.
It’s hard to say that Stephen A. Smith doesn’t have a sense of humor, turning what could have been an awkward moment into a situation that everyone on set was able to joke about.
