Today it was revealed that Steve Letarte, the former crew chief and current TV broadcaster, will move to TNT Sports and Amazon in 2025. So, what does this mean for his gig with NASCAR on NBC?

Well, his NBC deal is not changing. Steve Letarte has time to do both the summer slate with TNT and Amazon as well as the final stretch with NBC.

In the press release regarding TNT and Amazon, Letarte’s future with NBC was clarified. He is not going anywhere for the foreseeable future and fans can expect to hear his voice for every race after the FOX portion of the season.

“Letarte joins TNT Sports as an analyst, offering insights from his more than a decade as a motorsport commentator and more than 20 years as a crew member and crew chief for Hendrick Motorsports,” the press release stated. “He served as crew chief for Jeff Gordon’s No. 24 car from 2005-2010, achieving 10 wins during his tenure, and later led the No. 88 team driven by legendary Earnhardt Jr. from 2010-2014, where they went on to win the 2014 Daytona 500. Letarte left Hendrick Motorsports after the 2014 season to join NBC Sports as a color commentator, and he will continue working with NBC Sports on their NASCAR coverage.

Letarte has two kids in college, he mentioned it on the Actions Detrimental podcast last week. So, he’s open for business. If he can fit it in his schedule, he is going to do it.

Steve Letarte joining Dale Jr., Adam Alexander in 2025

Steve Letarte is joining Dale Jr. and Adam Alexander at TNT/Amazon next season. He will then join his NBC pals after the summer stretch. That is a win for fans overall.

Having Alexander and Letarte on board is great. These three are going to bring entertaining, knowledgeable, and important commentary to the races next year. Of course, fans love Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the excitement he brings to the broadcast.

Not to mention, the nostalgia.

“It’s so nostalgic to see TNT Sports return to NASCAR,” Dale Jr. said in a press release. “I enjoyed watching their coverage back in the day. I’m looking forward to being a part of the team and working with Adam (Alexander) and (Steve) Letarte.”
