Stewart Friesen, Tanner Gray involved in multi-truck wreck on Rockingham frontstretch

Cautions appear to be breeding cautions. Stewart Friesen and Tanner Gray got into each other on the frontstretch. A few trucks were involved in this one. All of the NASCAR trucks ended up wadded up right in front of the fans.
A few top-10 drivers were taken out in this wreck. Stewart Friesen had to make a choice when Rajah Caruth got loose. Well, he didn’t have much of a choice. Once Caruth got loose, the 52 truck made a move and it was too late.
Friesen went up the track and got into Matt Mills. From there Friesen’s truck came back down the track and collided with Tanner Gray. Both the 52 and 15 trucks went sliding in the grass, kicking up dirt and dust in front of the fans.
The red flag had just been lifted, and we were back to racing. Now, there is fluid all over the track with fast trucks out of the race.
Stewart Friesen is definitely dejected after this. He was not happy in his comments after leaving the infield care center. He even questioned if this is something worth doing at this point.
“The last two weeks really makes me question if all this headache’s even freaking worth it anymore … This is what I live and die for, but maybe it’s just not worth it,” Friesen said.
That is not what you usually hear from Stewart Friesen. Hell, at Atlanta, he had a chance to beat Kyle Busch at the end of the race. He came up short of an all-time great.

Stewart Friesen questioning his career
The wreck today was a tough pill to swallow for Stewart-Friesen. But it is only his third finish outside of the top-20 this season. It is also his second DNF. This weekend just started off rough for Friesen and ended that way.
He hit the wall in qualifying. His team had to make repairs. Friesen still had a really good, fast truck. Well, then this wreck happened. From the start of this Rockingham return, things didn’t line up and now he’s wrecked.
Before the wreck, Ty Majeski brought out the red flag by hitting the SAFER barrier and damaging it. When the cautions start, it can be difficult to make them stop. Stewart Friesen was just a victim of wrong place and wrong time today.
While Stewart Friesen is questioning his NASCAR career, he shouldn’t. He’s done great this season and his trucks are fast each week. I hope he doesn’t back out of the sport or this season, early.
