Stewart-Haas Racing teases 'Talladega Nights' Wonder Bread, Old Spice paint schemes
This weekend is going to be interesting. Stewart-Haas Racing is going to “Shake and Bake” with a pair of Talladega Nights schemes. While they don’t have anyone in the NASCAR Playoffs, that won’t stop SHR from having some fun at Dega this week.
There was more than one teaser that the team shared. At first, it was a question of, “Are they serious?” NASCAR teams have made Talladega Nights jokes since the movie came out. This seems very real, though.
Here was the first video that Stewart-Haas Racing shared immediately after the Texas race.
Then, Monday afternoon, Ryan Preece all but confirmed that the schemes are real. Preece is going to be the Ricky Bobby of the weekend in the Wonder Bread car. Based on the other hints in the first video, I’d say Chase Briscoe is going to rock the Old Spice scheme as Cal Naughton Jr.
Does Briscoe have enough facial hair for a handlebar mustache, though?
Here is Preece getting his morning breakfast with a little Wonder Bread toast.
You know, if you aren’t going to be in the playoffs, at least you can have some fun. Talladega Nights sometimes has a bad connotation with drivers and certain fans. But if you can’t laugh at yourself, what can you laugh at?
Talladega Nights is a great comedy, one of the classic sports parody movies. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly NEED to be invited to this race. Whatever SHR has to do to make it happen, they need to do it.

‘Talladega Nights’ coming to life in the NASCAR Playoffs
If you’ve never been to Talladega for a race, you need to do it at least once. The atmosphere is unlike anything else you will ever encounter. If you’re lucky enough to make it to the infield madness at night and survive it, you’ve got memories to last a lifetime.
Talladega Nights has come to life before at the track. Let’s go back to the 2013 edition of this fall race. It was the Halloween race for NASCAR. Kurt Busch rocked the Wonder Bread scheme and it was awesome.
Not to mention, the superspeedway embraces the association with the film at this point. You can find a Ricky Bobby cutout car to take photos if you are lucky enough to get into the fan area by the garages.
So, Talladega Nights is once again coming to life. This time, the Wonder Bread car is going to have his teammate in the Old Spice car with him.
IF YOU AIN’T FIRST, YOU’RE LAST!
