There were so many dizzying moves as the NFL kicked off free agency. Makes you wonder about how all the team-swapping will impact the Super Bowl.

Yes, it is never too early to think about the country’s most popular sporting event. Eleven months out and the betting favorites are starting to come into focus for the Super Bowl futures market.

The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, the runners up, still are the favorites to get there again. The big game is at the Superdome in New Orleans. And what other teams are favorites to clinch a trip to the Big Easy?

Saquon Barkley going from the Giants to the Eagles caused the biggest movement in odds. Barkley signed a three-year, $37.75 million deal. And Philadelphia went from +2000 to +1600.

Then there was Russell Wilson signing with the Steelers. Initially, Pittsburgh moved from +8000 to +6600, Then by Friday morning, the odds jumped back up to +7500. The Steelers also improved their defense by adding Ravens star linebacker Patrick Queen. And to add to the weirdness of the week, after Wilson did his introductory press conference, the Steelers traded disgruntled quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Eagles.

The Falcons also saw some movement thanks to quarterback Kirk Cousins joining the team. Cousins helped Atlanta’s Super Bowl odds shift from +5000 to +3000. The Falcons still are a long shot, but the money likes them as favorites for the NFC South.

But not all free agent moving moved the betting needle. Josh Jacobs swapped teams, going from the Raiders to the Packers, who then released Aaron Jones. The Packers’ title odds, through all that, stayed flat at +2200.
