Super Bowl LIX ticket prices plummeting
Ticket prices for Super Bowl LIX are dropping as it gets closer to kickoff. According to the ticket resale app Gametime (per TMZ Sports), the get-in prices for this weekend’s Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles are decreasing.
The lowest ticket price is $4,339. That’s a lot of money, but it’s down from $5,680 last Friday and $6,375 on Jan. 27. The most expensive ticket is set at $29,693. That’s a major drop from the $58,237 price that was set on Jan. 31.
TMZ Sports pointed out that the ticket prices for this year’s Super Bowl are lower than last year when the Chiefs took on the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas. Per Gametime, the lowest-priced ticket was $8,764, and the highest-priced was $37,620.
TickPick CEO Brett Goldberg told CNN that one reason ticket prices are dropping is the seating capacity at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The stadium has 74,000 sets, whereas Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas has around 65,000 seats. New Orleans is also recovering from a terrorist attack last month when a man drove a pickup truck into a crowd and began shooting, killing 14 people and injuring another 35.
Why are Super Bowl LIX tickets on the decline?
Goldberg also mentioned that fans are tired of seeing the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. “Had the Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders or Buffalo Bills made it this far, it’d be a much different story as it relates to current prices,” he said.

The Chiefs are getting ready to play in their fifth Super Bowl in six seasons. They have won three championships during that span and are looking to be the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
“I don’t plan on mentioning it, but I’m also not naive enough to know that they haven’t heard it,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told The Rich Eisen Show last week (per Yahoo Sports). “I mean, I’ve heard it a ton up to this point, and I’m sure I’ll hear more this next week, once we get down to New Orleans. So we all know that’s out there, but we’re really what matters is how you take care of business.”
The Chiefs are facing an Eagles team that last reached the Super Bowl during the 2022 season. Philadelphia is looking to win its second Super Bowl and first since 2017.
