The Super Bowl LVIII uniform matchup is set as the Kansas City Chiefs revealed their jersey color for the big game. They’ll take on the San Francisco 49ers for the second time in five years in the Super Bowl.

Fans familiar with the first matchup will see a similar color scheme. No, we’re not talking about all of the red.

Well, we kind of are. Anyway, the Chiefs revealed they’ll wear red jerseys, meaning the 49ers will sport the white tops with the gold pants.

Later on Tuesday, the 49ers tweeted out a tease of their uniforms, showing Christian McCaffrey’s jersey in response to the Patrick Mahomes reveal.

Since the Chiefs were the designated home team, they were able to choose what uniforms they wanted first. The AFC team is the designated home team in the Super Bowl during even-numbered games.

Last year, the Chiefs wore white jerseys against the Philadelphia Eagles and won 38-35. In the other two appearances, they wore red jerseys.

In Super Bowl LIV, the Chiefs beat the 49ers in red shirts while losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.

It seems like the same old story, but Mahomes and the Chiefs could make history. They’ll be the first team to repeat as champions with a win since the New England Patriots in the 2003 and ‘04 seasons.

“It’s been a heck of a year,” Mahomes said. “We’ve been underdogs for the last few games, but we never feel like underdogs. We’ve got a lot of guys on this team that know how to win, and when playoffs came around we knew we were gonna make it happen. Now we’re in the Super Bowl and the job’s not done. We’ve got to go out there to Vegas and play a great team and see if we can go out there and get the Super Bowl.”

On the flip side, quarterback Brock Purdy gets set for his first appearance in the big game. He was injured in last year’s NFC Championship, a blowout loss to the Eagles.

But, he was back and better than ever, leading San Francisco to the franchise’s eighth Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LVIII kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET on February 11th in Las Vegas.
