Super Bowl Odds: Updated betting lines following Week 16 of NFL season
As the NFL regular season sees only two weeks remaining, it’s fair to look ahead to the playoffs and in turn, the biggest game of the season in Super Bowl LIX.
Some teams can begin thinking of what they need to do to reach the pinnacle of the football world, while others are still scratching and clawing their way through the field to try and get a chance at making it to New Orleans. With 16 weeks behind us and only a couple of chances remaining, the contenders are separating themselves from the pack.
With that in mind, FanDuel Sportsbook has provided an updated look at the favorites for Super Bowl LIX via their odds. Check them out below, and see where your favorite team slots in, if they still have a shot at making it to the playoffs.
Detroit Lions (+390)
The Detroit Lions are atop the NFC North and the NFC as a whole at the moment after advancing to 13-2 in Week 16. They defeated the Chicago Bears by 17 points, but it could’ve been even worse than that, as no points were scored by either team in the fourth quarter.
They’ll finish out their season with a Week 17 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, and an all-important showdown with the Minnesota Vikings in Week 18. The Lions have the inside track on being the NFC’s representative in Super Bowl LIX, and it’s easy to see why they’re the current favorite to win the whole dang thing.
Kansas City Chiefs (+450)
The Kansas City Chiefs are 14-1, which is the best record in the NFL. They’re also the defending Super Bowl champions, looking to three-peat and the playoffs will likely have to go through Arrowhead in the AFC.
All that bodes well for their Super Bowl chances. While the Chiefs haven’t really dominated anyone this season, they continue to rack up the wins, as they did this past weekend versus the Houston Texans. Bet against Patrick Mahomes and company at your own risk.
Buffalo Bills (+470)
The Buffalo Bills haven’t been perfect in 2024, but they’ve been one of the more exciting teams in the NFL. This past weekend’s game certainly wasn’t their best, as they let the New England Patriots control much of the game, but Josh Allen and company braved the cold on their way to another victory over their longtime division rival.
While the top seed in the AFC might be out of reach, even with the tiebreaker in their possession over the Chiefs, the Bills will still be hoping to finish the season strong. The journey continues in Week 17 against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.
Philadelphia Eagles (+650)
Coming into Week 16, the Philadelphia Eagles were world-beaters. They’re still in a tremendous position, but a loss to the Washington Commanders that saw quarterback Jalen Hurts have to enter concussion protocol has the vibes a little off at the moment for one of the top contenders in the NFC.
There’s an outside chance the Commanders can ascend and win the NFC East following their win this past weekend, and now it’ll be up to Philadelphia to lock it up over the next two weeks. Their first chance comes against the Dallas Cowboys, who are suddenly surging and looking like a formidable foe.
Baltimore Ravens (+750)
The Baltimore Ravens secured a massive victory in Week 16. They handled their business at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which kept their hopes of winning the AFC North alive.
Next up for Lamar Jackson and company is a showdown with the Houston Texans on Christmas. It’s possible these two teams could meet in the playoffs, so it’ll be paramount for Baltimore to get the job done while Santa is watching.
Minnesota Vikings (+1100)
The surprise team in the NFL has been the Minnesota Vikings. At 13-2, they’ve been incredible and seem to be on a mission with Sam Darnold, and that’ll all come to a head over the next two weeks.

They’re currently behind the Detroit Lions in the NFC North, but that could all change, as they have games against the Green Bay Packers and the aforementioned Lions over the next two weeks. We’ll see if they can assert their dominance.
Green Bay Packers (+1300)
The Green Bay Packers are 11-4 and have no shot at winning their division. Still, they’re focused on a potential Super Bowl run, and they have no problem going on the road to get it done.
Jordan Love and company are playing some incredible football, underscored by their blowout victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 16. A huge matchup with the Minnesota Vikings is on the docket this weekend, but the Packers more than likely are settled in as the No. 5 seed in the NFC, barring something unforeseen.
Los Angeles Rams (+2500)
The Los Angeles Rams got some help from the Minnesota Vikings this past weekend, as they delivered a crushing loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Now, they’re in the driver’s seat in the NFC West, and seemed primed to take the division by the horns.
In Week 17, a showdown with the Arizona Cardinals is on the docket, followed by a clash with the aforementioned Seahawks to end the year. Matthew Stafford seems to be rejuvenated and the Rams are getting healthy, and it’s time for them to lock in and get the job done amid some NFC West foes.
Houston Texans (+4000)
The Houston Texans seem to be the weakest of all AFC division leaders, and that lends credence to the fact that the AFC South is one of the weaker divisions in all of football this season. Still, they’re ready to punch their ticket to the playoffs, and anything can happen once you’re in.
This past weekend didn’t go as planned, as the Chiefs ran roughshod over the Texans. A Christmas Day showdown with the Ravens could give the franchise some momentum if they play well, at least.
Pittsburgh Steelers (+4000)
The Pittsburgh Steelers couldn’t secure their eleventh win of the season this past Saturday, as they took a trip to Baltimore and dropped their second game in a row. The schedule doesn’t get any easier over the next two weeks, as they’ll face the Chiefs on Christmas Day, and the Cincinnati Bengals to end their campaign, who are fighting for their lives.
While the playoffs seem like a forgone conclusion, it won’t be an easy road to the AFC North title. Still, don’t count Mike Tomlin’s team out, with Russell Wilson leading the charge.

As you can tell, FanDuel Sportsbook has four to five teams above the rest of the league, but that’s where the opportunity to make some serious dough comes in. Time will tell how the odds change throughout the remainder of the regular season, but some teams are proving themselves worthy at the moment, with the NFL on the road to Super Bowl LIX.
