The NASCAR offseason is only a week old but Sydney Sweeney wanted to get the Cup Series experience at Charlotte Motor Speedway. She was in luck, 2023 Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney was there to show her around.

Sydney Sweeney is one of the most famous actresses in the world right now. With all that she surely has going on, it is interesting to see her take the NASCAR Racing Experience for a whirl.

Honestly, could NASCAR ask for a better promo for the Racing Experience or the sport? With almost 400,000 likes in less than an hour, this post is going to go viral among her 22.8M followers on Instagram.

There are a lot of people who want to dismiss NASCAR. But if Sydney Sweeney is racing around Charlotte Motor Speedway, how bad can the sport really be? Now, I’m being a bit tongue-in-cheek, but it is a reminder that not everything has to do with TV numbers.

Ryan Blaney was rocking a great Dickies firesuit for the hot laps on track. It looks like an old-school design and really goes with his playoff beard that seems to have remained a little longer than the season.

Let’s get more high-profile celebrities to the track and behind the wheel. In fact, let’s get Sweeney out to be the pace car driver or something for the Daytona 500. NASCAR has to tap into more relevant pop culture figures as much as possible. This is a great start.

The NASCAR Racing Experience is one of the cool things the sport does. When you can put regular people into a race car and let them experience what it is like to go fast, feel the force when you hit the banks.

Even someone like Sydney Sweeney, who I’m sure has never been heavily into racing, can feel what NASCAR is all about in these experiences. It’s a great way to grow the sport and create fans for life.

People say that more than any other sport, NASCAR has to be experienced in person. It is a sport that you take in with virtually all your senses. The sounds, smells, and sometimes even taste of exhaust, feeling and hearing the roar of the crowd and especially the engines – all of that has to be experienced to truly understand the sport.

More celebrities, more racing experiences, let’s make everyone a race fan and grow the sport. At the very least, it’s a nice offseason story to pass the time, right?
