A woman who looked like Taylor Swift caught the attention of fans who were at the MLS game between Sporting Kansas City and St. Louis on Saturday. The Swift lookalike was spotted at the game, and fans were convinced that it was her. However, the 14-time Grammy winner was not at the game, and the woman in question is Kelley Thrasher, who dubbed herself “Kansas City’s official Taylor Swift Doppelganger.”

One of Thrasher’s friends reacted to the frenzy on Instagram. “Still laughing at the chaos last night brought. We were just there to celebrate our girl @amberleigh.masters birthday… but bring Taylor Swift’s lookalike to an SKC game and suddenly you need security escorts and end up in the stadium’s secret speakeasy with the players after the game,” the caption read.

Kelley Thrasher is used to the attention as she has been mistaken for Taylor Swift for the last decade, according to KSHB 41 in Kansas City. “The red lips and eyeliner was like always my thing, and that’s when Taylor grew up a bit, and she started wearing the red lips, and people would just say it,” Thrasher told KSHB 41 back in October.

More on the Taylor Swift lookalike from Kansas City

Thrasher, who is from Kansas City, previously worked as a preschool teacher and a nanny before making the transition to being a Taylor Swift lookalike and working at birthday parties and private events. “I never thought it could be a full-time job, but I’m finding out it kind of can,” Thrasher said. “I still like to nanny, I still want to do that. I love both. I love kids, so it’s really easy for me so it almost doesn’t feel like work ever.”

It would make sense for fans to think Taylor Swift would be at the MLS game in Kansas City since she’s dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The two have been dating since the summer of 2023 and are still going strong.

Swift has been to multiple Chiefs games, including the Super Bowl back in February. When she was shown on the screen during the Super Bowl, fans began booing her. A big reason for that is that the majority of fans at the game were likely supporting the Philadelphia Eagles.
