Report: Taylor Swift will not consider performing Super Bowl halftime show until Travis Kelce retires

Over the years, as the NFL decided its Super Bowl halftime show performer, fans wondered whether Taylor Swift would take the stage. She never has – but a report indicated when she would consider it.

The Daily Mail reported Swift would consider performing a halftime show after her boyfriend Travis Kelce retires from the league. The report also said the reason she hadn’t before is because Pepsi was the sponsor, and the 14-time Grammy winner has a longstanding partnership with Coca-Cola.

Swift and Kelce started dating last year, and their relationship has been one of the big storylines in the NFL over the last two seasons. However, it sounds like she’ll wait until his playing days are over before considering taking football’s biggest stage.

“She doesn’t want to do it now until Travis is fully retired as she would like to be at the game supporting him rather than performing at it,” the Daily Mail’s source said. “When she eventually performs at it, she wants all her loved ones to be able to experience it. And as long as Travis is in the league, the Chiefs have a chance to be in the game, so she is going to wait to do it till he is officially done.”

Kelce’s NFL future remains a big question mark after the Chiefs came up short against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in their effort to win a third consecutive title. Rumors swirled throughout the season about whether he would hang things up and walk away, and he said he’d take some time to make a decision on his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce.

“I’m gonna take some time to figure it out,” Kelce said. “And I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back that it’s gonna be a wholehearted decision and I’m not half-assing it, and I’m fully here for them.

“I think I can play, it’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.”

Kelce’s numbers dropped a bit this season as he totaled a career-low 823 yards and three touchdowns. But he remains a key part of the Kansas City offense thanks to his connection with Patrick Mahomes. While the Chiefs have some questions at the wide receiver position, those players still get open as defenses continue to key in on Kelce.

In the meantime, Travis Kelce is going through the offseason. He and Taylor Swift also got a puppy together, Jason Kelce confirmed.
