Taysom Hill injury update: Saints TE gets grim diagnosis after exit vs. Rams, per report
Saints tight end/quarterback Taysom Hill suffered a serious injury against the LA Rams on Sunday, and unfortunately the news surrounding it is not looking good on Sunday evening. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Hill is feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury. There is no final diagnosis yet, and he’ll have an MRI to determine the severity of the injury. But it’s feared to be significant.
Hill has once again displayed his versatility for the Saints franchise this season, with 18 catches for 150 receiving yards. As a runner, he’s had 34 carries for 268 yards and six touchdowns. His best game came against the Cleveland Browns, when he had seven carries for 138 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
In his NFL career thus far, Hill was played in 99 games, hauling in 94 catches for 906 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. As a runner is where he’s done an extensive amount of his damage, with 432 total carries for 2,427 rushing yards and 33 total touchdowns. His highest rushing yardage total in a single season came in 2022, when he had 96 carries for 575 rushing yards.
As a passer, he’s completed 63.9% of his passes for 2,369 passing yards, while tossing in 11 touchdowns with nine interceptions. He’s averaged 7.8 yards per pass since 2018, when he first entered the league. One of the random NFL stats he owns–he has the most single-season touchdowns without a turnover by a quarterback (seven–2019).
