Taysom Hill injury update: Saints tight end hospitalized after chest injury
New Orleans Saints quarterback/tight end Taysom Hill was hospitalized after suffering a chest injury on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. Hill went to the hospital for more evaluation of his injury. Head coach Dennis Allen said he believed Hill was hospitalized for precautionary reasons.
Hill suffered the injury in the third quarter. The Saints announced the BYU alum was doubtful to return from his injury, but he helped the Saints build a 44-19 win over the Cowboys, rushing for 18 yards on three carries.
Last week, Hill rushed for 35 yards and caught one pass in the Saints’ 47-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The 34-year-old has spent his entire career in New Orleans after signing with the Green Bay Packers in 2017 as an undrafted free agent. Hill signed with the Saints shortly after the Packers cut him before the start of the 2017 season.
Taysom Hill named a team captain for 2024 season
At the start of this season, Hill was named one of the team captains. “I’ll be quite honest with you, and I told Taysom this at our dinner the other night, that he has a voice and I think he needs to use it more often,” Saints head coach Dennis Allen before the team’s first game, per NOLA.com. “Because when Taysom Hill speaks, Taysom Hill people listen. Because they respect the person and they respect that he’s the ultimate team player.

“He’s a guy that has done everything the team has asked of him to do, even though that might not be selfishly what he wants to do. That, to me, is the epitome of a team player. That’s the epitome of what you want your captains to be.”
Before Sunday’s game, Hill recorded 2,194 rushing yards, 757 receiving yards and 38 touchdowns in 98 career games. As a quarterback, Hill has thrown for 2,348 yards, 11 touchdowns, eight interceptions and has a 7-2 record as a starter.
