TCU at North Carolina odds: Early point spread released for 2025 matchup
TCU and North Carolina will square off in Chapel Hill to kick off the 2025 season and the early point spread was revealed for this matchup.
The Horned Frogs and Tar Heels had interesting seasons to say the least. TCU finished 9-4 with a New Mexico Bowl win while UNC finished 6-7 and lost the Fenway Bowl, but ended up hiring Bill Belichick.
Safe to say, there will be eyes on this game.
FanDuel revealed the early odds and North Carolina is a 2.5 point favorite over TCU in Chapel Hill on August 30th. UNC is also listed as a -125 favorite on the money line while TCU is +104, so this game looks close on paper, at least seven months out.
The total was set at 57.5 points.
While the NFL rumors swirl around Belichick amid his first offseason as North Carolina head coach, he’s focused on building a scouting staff like Nick Saban.

“I appreciate Coach Saban’s comments about the evaluations that we did in Cleveland,” Belichick said on ESPN College GameDay. “I think I learned a lot more from him than he did from me. He’s a great evaluator. And then, I watched him at Alabama put together essentially his scouting and evaluation staff. Now, I’m copying a lot of things that I watched him do there and learned from the system that he installed there. It’s been, really, each day, more players come into the portal. As these bowl games are completed, I’m sure there’ll continue to be more.
“We’re on top of each guy – evaluating the players that we think will be coming in, but also some declare that maybe we didn’t expect or you start to hear players that are rumored to come in. We’re digging through all those guys. We have a lot to offer here at Carolina, both academically with this institution and the football program, and what we have to offer.”
Meanwhile, Sonny Dykes looks to improve TCU in Year 4. He started great, getting to the national championship game before dipping to 5-7 the following season. But after a 9-4 campaign, it seems like TCU, like North Carolina, is on an upward trajectory.
