Baltimore Ravens select Penn State punter Jordan Stout in 2022 NFL Draft
The Baltimore Ravens opted to fill a special teams need with their fourth-round 2022 NFL Draft pick Jordan Stout. The Ravens drafted the Penn State kicker and punter with their No. 130 overall pick on Saturday.
Jordan Stout opened the 2021 season playing all three special teams roles for Penn State. He worked as kicker, punter and kickoff specialist before handing field goal duties off to senior Jake Pinegar for the final two games of the season.
Over two seasons as the starter, Stout punted 95 times for 4,257 yards and had a career-long 76-yard punt in 2021. Over his career, he has 42 punts inside the 20-yard line with only four touchbacks and 28 punts of 50-plus yards. Stout also converted 34-of-36 extra points and 20-of-31 field goals over his career with a career-long of 57 yards.
Stout began his collegiate career at Virginia Tech before transferring to Penn State in 2019. He is a Honaker, Virginia, native.

What NFL draft analysts are saying about Jordan Stout
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein broke down what Stout can bring to the NFL for the specialist’s draft profile.
The prospect analyst sees a bright future ahead for the Nittany Lions punter.
“Handled both kicking and punting duties but will be a full-time punter at the next level,” Zierlein wrote. “Stout combines quality power with outstanding touch to flip fields and throw darts depending upon his positioning. He hangs the ball up to limit returns and rarely boots it into the end zone. He’s consistent and works with quick operation time. He has the makings of a steady, long-term NFL punter.”
ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper championed Stout early as his top punter in the draft.
“Averaged 46 yards a punt, his directional skills are outstanding, he showed that in the game,” Kiper said of Stout ahead of the NFL Draft. “He was booming 50 plus yarders on a regular basis, he had touch, he didn’t have any touchbacks. He had fair catches and he was able to do the job in terms of the directional ability.”
