Ryan Tannehill dishes out high praise to Tennessee Titans first-round pick Treylon Burks
Ryan Tannehill and A.J. Brown had a special connection in Tennessee. While both playing with the Titans, the quarterback and wide receiver duo build a strong relationship – both on and off the field – and were known for putting together big plays in games.
Little did Tannehill and Brown know that Tennessee’s final game last season – a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional Round – would be their finale together. After spending three seasons with the Titans, Brown was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles on the first night of the 2022 NFL Draft.
While Brown will no longer be Tannehill’s primary wide receiver, Tennessee did bring in a talented first-rounder in former Arkansas star Treylon Burks – and the quarterback said he’s excited to work with him.
“I’m excited about Treylon, a guy who has a lot of traits and characteristics that I think fit our team well,” Tannehill said. “Had some great conversations with him and excited to add him to the mix. I don’t think we can mix the two of losing A.J. and the pain let that take away anything that Treylon brings to the table. … And I told Treylon that.

“Yeah, I was tight with A.J. — I am tight with A.J. — going to miss him, but I’m also excited to add Treylon and what he brings. I think he has a lot of things, like I said, that can help us. And it’s just a matter of getting him up to speed and getting on the same page. It’s going to take a lot of work, a lot of effort from everyone involved — myself, coaching staff, Treylon and all the rookies.”
Burks jumps to the NFL level after a successful career at Arkansas, which included 2,399 yards and 18 touchdowns over three seasons with the Razorbacks. The wide receiver put up 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns last season to become a first-round talent who’s landed with Tennessee.
