Georgia has already played a pair of games against top-five-ranked SEC opponents. The Bulldogs are now about to take on two more league foes who are also are in the top 20 of the initial College Football Playoff rankings.

This week, head coach Kirby Smart’s No. 3 Georgia is tasked with facing No. 16 Ole Miss on the road. But next week, the Bulldogs will return to Athens to host No. 7 Tennessee.

The early point spread for that Week 12 game is out, and Georgia is an 8.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel. The total has been set at 53.5 points.

As for the moneyline, Georgia is listed at -295, and Tennessee is down at +235.

Heading into Week 11, both Georgia and Tennessee have one loss. The Bulldogs dropped a Week 5 thriller at Alabama despite mounting a serious second-half comeback. The Volunteers, on the other hand, fell to Arkansas in Week 6 but beat Alabama two weeks after that.

After combining for 191 points the first three games of the season, Tennessee’s offense has slowed drastically. The Vols have yet to hit the 30-point mark in SEC competition. Luckily for head coach Josh Heupel, his defense has come through this season, giving up just 12.4 points per game, the fifth fewest of any team in college football.

The Tennessee defense has been opportunistic, too, recording a takeaway in all but two games this year. The Vols have logged at least two takeaways in five games. That’s especially noteworthy considering Georgia enters Week 11 ranking fourth-to-last in the SEC in turnover margin per game (-0.13).

The Bulldogs have 12 giveaways through eight games this season, including 11 interceptions from quarterback Carson Beck, and eight of those picks have come in the last three outings.

Georgia-Tennessee could have significant College Football Playoff implications, certainly if both teams take care of business in Week 11 leading up to the possible top-10 matchup in Athens.
