Terrion Arnold injury update: Lions CB downgraded to out for Sunday's game at Colts
Detroit Lions rookie defensive back Terrion Arnold will miss this Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Lions downgraded CB Terrion Arnold to out for Sunday’s game at Indianapolis due to his groin injury,” Schefter posted on X. “Arnold will not travel with the team to Indianapolis.”
Arnold has been a solid addition to the Lions defense. Although he’s not putting up gaudy numbers, Detroit as a whole has become arguably the best team in the NFC — maybe the entire NFL, due to their complimentary football, which Arnold has been a part of.
Unfortunately, he’s been dealing with a groin injury over the past couple of weeks, and it’s evidently worsened to the point where he can’t go in Week 12. Perhaps it’ll be the last game he has to miss, but the Colts might look to exploit his absence.

Moreover, Arnold spent all three seasons of his college career with the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he established himself as one of the best corners in the country. After redshirting in his freshman season, Arnold was named a Freshman All-American and to the Freshman All-SEC Team in 2022 followed by a First-Team All-American selection and a First-Team All-SEC nod this past season.
He ended the 2022 season with 45 tackles, nine defended passes, one tackle for loss, a fumble recovery, and one interception, but took his game to another level in 2023. Leading the SEC with five interceptions and 17 pass breakups along with 63 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and a sack.
Arnold entered the league with 25 games played under his belt, and the 6-foot, 189-pound cornerback was looking to make an instant impact in the league. He’s been solid, amassing 38 total tackles, but he’s still hoping for his first interception as the season progresses.
