Detroit Lions rookie defensive back Terrion Arnold was carted off during Sunday night’s win over the Minnesota Vikings with a foot injury. However, Arnold provided a positive update on his status moving forward after the game.

Terrion Arnold told the Detroit Free Press that x-rays on his foot were negative and he will be good to go when the Lions begin postseason play in two weeks.

The Lions beat the Vikings 31-9 on Sunday to clinch the top seed in the NFC and a first-round bye for the playoffs.

“I’m playing,” Terrion Arnold said, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Arnold exited the game with a pair of tackles and a deflection against the Vikings. He left on a cart because of that injury after a tackle on RB Aaron Jones in the third quarter.

The former Alabama cornerback made a shoe-string tackle and Jones rolled over the top of him. Then Arnold reached for his lower left leg following the roll, and he did not get up from the field before trainers came out to check on him.

Arnold was helped off the field by two trainers, then was reportedly carted off to the locker room.

Terrion Arnold was a first-round NFL Draft pick by Detroit, taken with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He has lived up to the billing so far in his rookie season.

Arnold had started 14 of the 15 games he had appeared in prior to the Sunday Night Football contest against the Vikings. He had logged 58 tackles and nine passes defended on the season.

During his career at Alabama, Arnold was a remarkably productive player.

The former Tallahassee, Fla., product logged 45 tackles during the 2022 season, also adding an interception, a fumble recovery and nine passes defended.

He’d have a breakout season as a redshirt sophomore during the 2023 season. During that campaign, Arnold tallied 63 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, a sack, five interceptions, a forced fumble and 17 passes defended.

The Lions have been dealing with injuries all season, particularly on defense. However, it seems as though Arnold has avoided any serious trouble.

As for the Vikings, after falling to the Lions they are set to face the Rams in the first round of the playoffs this weekend. Minnesota could have clinched the No. 1 seed and a bye with a win over the Lions.
