Terrion Arnold reveals pre-combine message from Miss Terry, delivers heartfelt message to mom
Before he took the field at Lucas Oil Stadium for his combine workout with the other defensive backs, Terrion Arnold got a message from one of his dear friends: Terry Saban, AKA Miss Terry. The former Alabama defensive back and Saban, the wife of now-retired legendary coach Nick Saban, developed a close bond over the years, and she wanted to wish him well.
The message was quite a simple one. And Arnold happily shared that and more in a stirring interview on NFL Network after his workout.
“She texted me right before I came out here. I told it was just like another game. She said, ‘You should be blessed. You’re highly favored. And just go out there and give it your all,'” Arnold said. “And she said with Coach Saban, his new role, NFL Network, College GameDay, he’s preparing for the draft and things like that, but just encouraging words from her. Just like old times.”
Then Arnold dove into a message for his mother, Tamala Arnold.
“Mom, if you’re watching this right now, your son just wants to tell you how proud he is of you,” Arnold said. “You had me at a young age and you overcame a lot of adversity. People were doubting you, people were counting you out. And honestly mom, like I always tell you, you raised a star.”

Arnold continued after asking the cameras to zoom in on his face as he talked.
“I just want to say, Tamala Arnold, I love you,” Arnold said. “I mean I’m right here, the whole world is watching and I’m blessed to have you as a mom. Like I said, you overcame a lot and with that being said, I’m going to continue to keep shining, just how you raised me to be. I’ll never forget where I came from, Tallahassee, Florida, is a hard place to make it out of.”
And before Arnold wrapped up his interview, he made sure to let people know that whatever he did at the 2024 NFL Combine, it was just the start.
“And everybody watching this back at home, I hope you’re proud of me,” Arnold said. “Because I gave it my all. Y’all tune in to pro day because it’s going to be a show. Like I said, right here, the combine, had to come out here and compete. But this was just a warm up. I was kind of getting my feet wet.”
