Terry McLaurin isn’t taking for granted the fact that he’s ascending into an NFL star, and is now one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the league.

The journey isn’t lost on the former Ohio State star, as McLaurin penned a heartfelt thank you letter to his fans, family the Buckeyes and the Washington Commanders after his extension was made official.

It’s a beautiful piece of writing from McLaurin, as he didn’t leave anyone out who helped him along his journey. Not only is he one of the best wide receivers in the game, but it’s evident he’s one of the most humble.

Moreover, McLaurin was inked to a three-year contract extension worth $71 million on Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The move came after the former Ohio State star opted to skip mandatory minicamps this month with contract talks still ongoing.

The extension includes a $28 million signing bonus, which is the largest ever given to a receiver. Roughly 76.4% of the money is guaranteed and McLaurin will be signed to the team through the 2025 season.

As a rookie in 2019, McLaurin caught 58 passes for 919 yards and seven touchdowns. He then had 87 receptions for 1,118 yards and four touchdowns in 2020, and last season he caught 77 passes for 1,053 yards and five touchdowns.
