Texas at Texas A&M odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch
A rivalry like few others in college, both in-state and in general, will make its much-anticipated return with the first matchup between Texas and Texas A&M as part of the SEC. It’s now an even bigger event than it was supposed to be, though, with the implications it will have for the SEC Championship and on the College Football Playoff.
With that, Vegas has released the line for the game between the two ahead of next weekend with the Longhorns as a 7.5-point favorite (-118) on the road over the Aggies per FanDuel. A&M, as just over a touchdown underdog at Kyle Field, is at (+250) on the moneyline. The total is then set at 50.5 points with the over slightly more favored than the under.
Again, beyond this just being their first meeting on the field since 2011, Texas vs. Texas A&M will have a real effect on the conference championship as well as the playoff.
The Longhorns and Aggies are in a tie atop the league standings coming into this weekend. That, assuming they both win tomorrow, will make their game a play-in with only one of them able to go to Atlanta. That then affects the playoff as the winner of the SEC Championship gets a bye in the expanded field. It’s able to alter even more in the scenario where Texas A&M wins as it would move them up and drop Texas down into the discussion of all of the other teams at 10-2 in the Southeastern Conference.

How to watch Texas vs. Texas A&M

Channel: ABC, ESPN+, Fubo TV (Streaming)
Location: Kyle Field (College Station, Texas)
Texas sits at 9-1 overall with their only loss this season coming to Georgia. Some questions have started to come about how that loss went with the rest of the strength of the schedule. Even so, they are at No. 3 in the CFP Rankings from this week, which would give them the No. 2 seed in the bracket as the projected champion out of the SEC, going into this weekend’s game against Kentucky.
Texas A&M is then at 8-2 overall with their two losses coming to highly-rated teams in Notre Dame and South Carolina. With them at No. 15 for the CFP’s Selection Committee, the Aggies will obviously need to win out at Auburn tomorrow and then over the Longhorns next weekend to be back in consideration for the playoff field in the end.
