Texas linebacker Jett Bush declares for 2024 NFL Draft
Texas Longhorns linebacker Jett Bush has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, he announced via Instagram on Monday. Bush is a five-year player in Austin and began his career as a walk-on under Tom Herman. He eventually carved a role into the defense under Steve Sarkisian and will now be making the jump to the NFL.
“Dear University of Texas and Texas fans,
“I am extremely grateful for the unconditional support and incredible experiences during my time with the University of Texas. The memories created on and off the field will forever hold a special place in my heart. With my next chapter coming up, I am excited to announce my decision to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.
“Everyone’s encouragement, especially Coach (Jeff) Choate, Coach K (Pete Kwiatkowski), and Coach Sark, has fueled my journey, and I carry the pride of being a Longhorn into this new chapter. Hook ’em.”
Bush played in all 14 games this season for Texas, recording 17 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks. He even took an interception back for a touchdown against Texas Tech, having some fun during the regular season finale blowout.
Now moving on to the NFL, the process will be huge for somebody like Bush. Going from walk-on to draft pick would be an incredible story.
