Texas QB Quinn Ewers declares for 2025 NFL Draft
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. Ewers spent three seasons at Texas after spending his true freshman season at Ohio State.
In his three years with the Longhorns, Ewers played and started in 36 games. He amassed 737 completions for 9,128 yards and 68 touchdowns while throwing 28 interceptions. He recorded a 64.9% career completion percentage.
Ewers also tallied eight rushing touchdowns during his time with the Longhorns. The Texas native was instrumental in head coach Steve Sarkisian‘s rebuild at Texas, joining the team in Sarkisian’s second year at the helm.
After posting an 8-5 record in his first season at Texas in 2022, Ewers only saw more success. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound QB led the Longhorns to back-to-back appearances in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
In 2023, the Longhorns won the Big 12 Championship en route to the CFP. While Texas was unable to secure the conference crown in 2024, it reached the SEC Championship in its first year in the prestigious league.
For his efforts over the years, Ewers was named a 2024 semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, Maxwell Award, Davey O’Brien Award and Top 10 Finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
In 2023, Ewers was the Player of the Game in the Big 12 Championship when he erupted for 452 passing yards and four touchdowns against Oklahoma State.

ESPN’s NFL insider, Mel Kiper Jr., listed Ewers as the No. 5 quarterback in his latest 2025 NFL draft Big Board. Alas, NFL scouts are reportedly divided on their opinions on Ewers.
While Ewers’ collegiate statistics don’t necessarily jump off the page, he has experience in Sarkisian’s complex offense, which is more similar to an NFL offense than most systems at the collegiate level.
On the flip side, Ewers has had a history of injuries that may concern some NFL organizations. No matter how Quinn Ewers’ NFL career pans out, Sarkisian is happy to have been able to coach him for three years.
“I’m super proud of Quinn. He’s taught me a lot, probably unknowingly to him, because what he went through every year dealing with injury, what he goes through where I don’t know if he’d ever live up to the standards of what everybody thinks he’s supposed to be,” Sarkisian said. “But at the end of the day, all he did was show up every day and work and be a great leader and be a great teammate.
“All he did was come to work every day. All he did was be a great teammate. All he did was work on his crap, get himself as healthy as he could when he was injured, and then show up when it was time to show up.”
The NFL Draft will take place from April 24-26 in at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
