Texas Rangers drink unbelievable amount of beer in World Series celebration
The Texas Rangers popped bottles on Wednesday night after clinching the World Series title, as is tradition, but the amount of alcohol consumed in the post-game celebration was truly enormous. Social media clips captured three beverage tubs packed to the brim with empty Budweiser bottles and champagne bottles just from the Rangers’ locker room after winning the final game against Arizona 5-0. The empty bottles looked like they could have been for a whole army, though a good chunk of it was likely poured on the Rangers’ heads.
The win was the very first for Rangers fans, meanwhile Texas’ star shortstop Corey Seager earned his second World Series MVP award.
Although they proved they could imbibe quite a bit on Wednesday night, the drinking is far from over. The victory parade around DFW is slated for Friday.
The DFW area is in full celebration mode following the win on Wednesday night. Arlington ISD even canceled classes for students on Friday so more fans can attend the Rangers’ victory parade.
Cameras captured fans at Texas Live! restaurant going absolutely berzerk when the final strike hit the catcher’s glove with no swing from the Arizona batter.
Mike McCarthy hoping for some road magic from Rangers
Not only did the Rangers beat the Diamondbacks in their home stadium, they won each series on the way to the finals on the road. Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy would love it if some of that good fortune would rub off on his team this weekend as they travel to face the seven-win Philadelphia Eagles.
“Those Rangers. Such an unbelievable run,” McCarthy said Thursday morning during his press conference with the local media. “I think what really jumps out to me is winning the games on the road. Hopefully, we get a little luck from those guys there. That was a great series. A great playoff run.”

The Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays, the Baltimore Orioles, the Houston Astros, and the Arizona Diamondbacks on the way to the club’s first title after 52 seasons.
After riding high off of the Rangers’ win, sports fans in Dallas could be in for a rollercoaster of emotion on Sunday afternoon. The Cowboys-Eagles matchup has postseason implications – and gives the winning NFC East squad bragging rights, at least for the next month or so until Philadelphia travels to AT&T Stadium.
Not making it more than it is but not downplaying the significance of Sunday’s game, McCarthy simply said: It’s Dallas vs Philadelphia.
“I think his game speaks for itself,” McCarthy said. “I mean, it’s the Dallas Cowboys versus the Philadelphia Eagles. And, to me, that’s as far as it needs to go.”
