In 2024, Dreiling led Tennessee with 75 RBIs and 53 walks while batting .341 in 71 appearances. Across 246 plate appearances, the sophomore also scored 72 runs across 84 hits.
Dreiling’s performance at the Men’s College World Series was pivotal to their national title efforts. He finished the tournament with 13 hits, bringing in eleven RBIs, and sent three balls over the fence for home runs. In Game 3 against Texas A&M, he had a game-high 3 RBIs, including a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to give Tennessee the 6-1 lead.
In Game 2, he hit what ended up being a game-winning two-run home run to defeat the Aggies in the seventh inning of Game 2. Moreover, Dreiling logged a walk-off base hit against Florida State in Tennessee’s CWS opener — a game in which he recorded a career-high four hits.
Dreiling’s streak started early in the postseason, tallying seven hits and three RBIs — including four extra-base hits — throughout the Knoxville Regional.

Before arriving in Knoxville, Dreiling was a decorated high schooler coming in as the No. 293 overall prospect in the 2022 class by Perfect Game and the No. 2 player in his home state of Kansas. He earned All-American honors as a senior.
MLB’s scouting report on Dreiling predicts him to be a consistent, hard-hitting batter in the pros. The left-hander is able to manage the strike zone and that shows in his inflated walk numbers.
“Dreiling has solid to plus speed once he gets going but still is learning how to use it,” the report continued. “He isn’t aggressive on the bases and was so rough defensively that he mostly DHed as a freshman. He has improved as a left fielder but probably won’t be more than an average defender with a subpar arm and lacks the instincts for center.”
Dreiling has multiple years of eligibility after wrapping up his true sophomore season and is now faced with the decision to either turn his attention to the professional ranks, or head back to Tennessee to defend his national championship.
