Texas Rangers unveil robot bartender, ADAM, ahead of hosting MLB All-Star week
The food robotics industry has become more and more popular in recent years, with several different companies making the jump. The Texas Rangers decided to hire a robot for their concession stand during MLB All-Star week. The robot bartender, named Adam, will serve drinks to fans.
ADAM is one of two new robots capable of making alcoholic beverages to enhance the customer experience during this year’s MLB All-Star Week festivities at Globe Life Field. That information was relayed by Lawrence Dow of the Fort Worth Star Telegram. ADAM is an “AI-driven service robot” created by Richtech Robotics, Inc. “specializing in hospitality and healthcare.” ADAM can “make drinks, clean up after itself, greet customers, and carry-on simple conversations.” Richtech Robotics is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Richtech engineeer Jakub Campbell said one of the biggest challenges was getting the robot ready for the volume of a Rangers crowd and “making sure the robot could stand on its own.”
ADAM is located in section 111 of Globe Life Field. The second automatic drink maker will be Rotender, an “automatic cocktail machine, that can make and deliver a drink in about 30 seconds.” On their website, Rotender is touted as “The World’s Fastest and Moste Reliable Bartender.” It was created after a study done by Oracle, which revealed that fans spent on average about 30 minutes waiting for drinks. Rotender was officially launched on July 3rd and can be found in section 125 of Globe Life Field.
